Why does it say that I earned a point when I reply to something but it doesn't add to my points?

I tried answering a question on here but it wouldn't let me because I didn't have any points.

I don't quite remember how long ago it was but I left Funadvice for a while and when I came back it was gone.

It just means its not 'active' (obviously) but does it mean the person has been suspended or,,? Dumb and obvious question ._....
