my son has an earache,and besides the typical medicine what other ways are there to help it pass?

I used to suffer with almost chronic ear aches as a child. My mother made a hot water bottle and put it on my pillow to heat it up. Then let me lie with my sore ear on the hot pillow. That helped a lot to ease the pain. And then also something like panado syrup, containing paracetamol, which helps for pain and fever makes a huge difference.

I have had 4-5 ops for earaches I think that not letting waiter in helps and to keep warm and snuggled up

Put a few drops of Olive oil in the ear.

A fairly warm wash cloth (wring it out…) against his ear may help ease the pain.

no it doesnt..but other than droppin drops into his ear..and putting him to sleep…should I do anything else?
