Dying my hair blonde in a bad condition?

Well my hairs quiet dry & has quiet a lot of split ends but its really strong & theres a fair bit of it. Its about shoulder blade lengh & at the moment is a faded brown colour from were I have been dying it. It use to be a very dark brown but not so dark now from were I’ve been using blonding shampoo & washing up liquid to strip the colour as I desperetly want to go back blonde again but start of with all over highlights as I’ve been dark for 2 years now but blonde is my natural colour & I think it would be a nice change. Im having professionals come in to do my hair colour (maybe) but im nervous il go ginger as my previous strand test did.. What shall I do?
