How can I dye my hair from dark brown/black to light ash brown?

Dyes have bleach in them.. You only have to bleach it if it’s been less than 6 weeks since your last dye. This is coming from someone with 4 years of chair experience.

If your hair is dark & you wanna dye it a lighter color you need to bleach it…

And usually if you try dying it it just comes out a sickly orange brown color.

Or it doesn’t work at all.

I would just go to a hair place and get it down, so that it comes out right. Don’t wanna be messing around with your hair, to have it come out very wrong and turn orange! lol happened to my best friend, & she had to go to school with it.

I guess that’s the difference between whatever dyes you guys use and what my salon uses.. I’ve never had a problem.

If you’re going to bleach your hair before you do it, don’t bleach too much. If all the color is gone and you try to dye your hair, it may even fall out. Going from dark to bleached to dark is incredibly bad for your hair. If you bleach it too much, go two shades darker every four weeks until you have the right color that you want. However, I would recommend buying higher-quality dye so that you don’t have to bleach at all.

If it’s not that big of a difference (in hair color) you can just dye it because MOST dyes have lightener already in it. But it really just depends. I would go to a professional!
