Answer #3

It’s difficult to say because most of the times these questions are regulated by the states in the US. When I was younger in my homestate it was possible to move out at age 16, actually, that was the age your parents could throw you out. I live in Washington now and that definitely doesn’t seem to be the case.

Your best bet is finding a friend’s family to live with, possibly request your mother give up her paternal rights and your friend’s family could adopt you. Or you could just ask to move in with them with your mother’s permission. You haven’t mentioned a father, but if he’s alive and around you should probably consider him, or a grandparent first. They should at least know of your mother’s issues and a state would give them custody if she is found to be unfit. That being said proving your mother is an unfit parent is difficult at best, though she may not be willing to go through the trial process and be willing to transfer your custody to someone else.

I was living with my uncle (her half brother) for 5 years after I got taken out of her custody at 8 for drinking and hard drugs.. she has sole custody and I want ot go live with my incle.. and I’ve tried convincng her to let me move with a friend.. she has 5 daugters and non of us except me have lived with ehr in their teen age years.. my dad passed away when I was 7.. or I would sure as hell be with him… I just need to know how to prove that my mom is a drunk and unfit.. and move back in with my incel.. my uncle was a little abusove o me and thats why I moved out.. he has CPS charges against him but hes now seeing a counsler weekly and I want to be with him more than anything… I just don’t know how to prove my mom is unfit
