Answer #1

there is something called fetal alcohol syndrome. babies get it when the mother drinks while pregnant. you should let your doctor know. im not sure if they can tell, but I’d say they could? and from now on I’d refrain from it. good luck!

Answer #2

you can’t make your baby be ‘down syndrome’ through drinking. it’s a chromosome abnormality (they have 47 chromosomes instead of the normal 46…so no, however.

you can make you baby have AFS. type it into google…there are 15,000 babies born every year in germany alone with AFS. it can cause, physical, facial, behavioural and psychological problems for child. won’t normally detect it until baby is about 6 months old (development normally flags up concerns)

you SHOULD NOT DRINK AT ALL! the damage is mainly done to the foetus in the first trimester…it still causes damage to the baby after then, but baby is more suseptable in first three months…after it will still effect baby, but most people know they are pregnant by then and STOP!

unfortuently, because drinking is such a problem now, more babies every year are born with AFS, and they are classed as ‘special needs children’

they CANNOT tell by a scan, you will not know until baby is born…

when did you stop drinking? what quantitys were you drinking and how often?

you really need to avoid any alcohol whatsoever, you’re pregnant, it’s only for a few months…

Answer #3

OMG! Stop now! Love your child enough to ensure that there is no risks involved during your pregnancy. Your baby could very well suffer with fetal alcohol syndrome. Put the baby before yourself.

Answer #4

well, you wouldn’t fine that out until you give birth to the baby. it could have fetal alcohol syndrome. this marzette hit me back I holla.

Answer #5

You most likely wouldn’t completely know until the baby is born - it could have fetal alcohol syndrome.

Answer #6

Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can cause a number of birth defects, ranging from mild to severe. These include mental retardation; learning, emotional and behavioral problems; and defects involving the heart, face and other organs. The term “fetal alcohol spectrum disorder” is used to describe the many problems associated with exposure to alcohol before birth. The most severe of these is fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), a combination of physical and mental birth defects.

Discuss your drinking, honestly, with your physician…

All women can do some basic things to improve their chances of having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby:

Have a pre-pregnancy checkup with a health care provider.

Get early and regular prenatal care.

Take a multivitamin containing 400 micrograms of folic acid daily starting before pregnancy and in early pregnancy to help prevent neural tube defects.

Eat a variety of nutritious foods, including foods containing folic acid, like fortified breakfast cereals, leafy green vegetables, dried beans, legumes, oranges and orange juice.

Don’t eat undercooked meat or change a cat’s litter box. Both are possible sources of toxoplasmosis, an infection that can cause birth defects.

Don’t eat shark, swordfish, king mackerel or tilefish. These fish can have high amounts of mercury. It’s all right for a pregnant woman to eat a limited amount of fish that have small amounts of mercury, including shrimp, salmon, pollock, catfish and canned light tuna. But she should not eat more than 6 ounces of albacore (white) tuna per week.Women also should check local advisories about the safety of fish caught in local waters.

Begin pregnancy at a healthy weight (not too heavy or too thin).

Don’t smoke and avoid secondhand smoke.

Don’t drink alcohol.

Don’t use any drug, even over-the-counter medications or herbal preparations, unless recommended by a health care provider who knows you are pregnant. In addition, the March of Dimes recommends that all women be tested for immunity to rubella (German measles) and chickenpox before becoming pregnant and consider being vaccinated if they are not immune. After being vaccinated, a woman should wait one month before becoming pregnant.

Answer #7

well I think the would not know until you have the baby but be careful any wayz cause you never know what can happen make you baby have a healthy life stop drinkin cause it colud kill you and your baby godbless you

Answer #8

That is very dangerous for the baby and you. The baby won’t have down syndrome, but just as bad. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is not something you want your baby to have. Here is some information and symptoms that the baby will have, on this site. Oh and I don’t know for sure if the doctor would be able to know whether or not the baby has it. But it’s a high possiblilty, since you were irresponable and drank while pregnant, which is very risky and well, not smart. Good Luck, I Hope The Best For Your Baby And You.

Here’s the site with lots of information on FAS, which is something your baby is in risk of getting. (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome)

its no good to tell her mnot to drink!its already been done!I dont think they can tell if it will be retarted though!

Answer #10

You reap what you sew - sadly it not only affects you but a totally innocent, no voice, no choice baby.

Answer #11

your baby cannot get down syndrome from you drinking while being pregnant. that sydrome has to do with chromosome mutation. drinking does cause F.A.S. as layashea stated.

you shouldn’t be drinking at all…not even a little every once in a while. you have no idea what the effect will be on your child, so don’t try it.

Answer #12

that is wrong you shound not drink while your pregnant !!!

Answer #13

depending on how much you drank, your baby probably isnt fine because if you didnt tell them you had been drinking, they wouldnt be loodking for those syptoms go back, and tell them when and how much you drank, how often ect theyll then take another look to see if they can get any early syptoms of something wrong as well as give you the talk about how horribly bad it is to drink when you have a baby isnide of you
