John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

Answer #5

To understand this means u have to return to he beginning of the Bible. God told man that we we would die if we sinned. But Adam and Eve went ahead and sinned anyway. This is when they became mortal and therefor they started to die as a natural consequence of sin. But because God loves humanity so much He made provisions that man could have the chance to live again eternally in heaven by sending Jesus Christ to earth to pay the consequence of sin for us. When Adam and Eve sinned first God sacrificed a lamb on their behalf to pay the consequence of their sin and throughout the ages, God’s ppl kept sacrificing animals for their sins. But When Jesus died on the cross all the sacrifices stopped, because Jesus the only perfect Being payed the ultimate perfect sacrifice. So we have Joy now knowing that all of our sins no matter how bad it is can be forgiven because Jesus payed teh price for it on teh cross. All we need to do is ask for forgiveness and turn away from sin.

Answer #6

John 3:16 is a summary of the Christian faith:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sometimes 3:16 is tacked onto something as indication that it summarizes the essential nature of something. Kind of an inside joke for the Bible literate.

Answer #7

3:16 usually is referring to John 3:16 a scripture verse in the bible which is “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life” Meaning that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us so that when we sin we can go to him for repentance and can go to Heaven rather than Hell. Hope this helped!
