Can dogs sense emotion?

Can dogs sense love, pain, etc, My puppies won’t leave me alone, I get the feeling they know I’m sick, I was told today I’m anemic and been under heaps of stress lately, I think they know I’m not ok

Answer #1

Yes they have emotion

Answer #2

Of course they can Adam! How do you think they know when it’s a good time to lick their crotch? LOL jk

Answer #3

Lol nice

Answer #4

They can…well i believe they can. When my Grandpa died i think my dog could tell i was upset so she came and cuddled up to me and she will mope about and wouldn’t leave us alone. Apparently they react to your body language.

Answer #5

Yes dogs can sense emotion. They can sense your emotion & respond to it. They also have their own emotions.

Answer #6

Oh yes they can.. :D They know when you are sick, they often know when you are scared, my dog always comes on my lap when I am crying :DD, they also do with laughing..(:
Dogs are very emotional creatures them selves even.. When one of our dogs died then Maygan (she passed away last year).. She wasn’t eating and she looked depressed for 2 weeks): We thought she was gonna let herself go cause she was very old, but she was happy again and lived 2 more years..(: :D

Answer #7

Absolutely…my dogs know when I am upset…When I am in pain they can feel it & sit or lay near me…when I am having an argument my dog starts kissing me to calm me down…if I cry my dogs come near me & kiss me as well. They are by far man’s best friend…a dog will nev betray you or cheat on you no matter how fugly you may think you are…they will think your the best thing in the world…even if you hit them, scream at them & yank their chain…they will always be loyal to you…I see how my family treats the dogs & it kills me…yet they are so loyal…my doberman to my brother….he sometimes punches her when she attacks our pincher (they dont get along 2 b!tches) yet everytime he treats her like that she is still so loyal to him…she follows him like no tomorrow & the sec he is gone, she is so sad. On the other hand I can spend all day talking nice to her, playing with her…petting her…buying toys for her…and she will still be glued to his thigh…on the other hand, the pincher…always gets yelled at kicked & stomped on sometimes because she is so tiny & loves to stand by where my mom cooks…simply like the doberman to my brother…constantly following my mom everywhere she goes…yet my mom constantly screams at her & all where as I play with her allow her to sleep on a pillow in my room and walk with her…yet she will always be loyal to my mom first…Dogs…I have a soft spot for them…they will nev let you down like people do! :(

Answer #8

Yea they do, My dog knows when I’m sad she will come and cuddle with me. Also I fell down the stairs one time and I didn’t get up right away cause I took the breath right out of me. And my dog comes over and starts wimpering and nudging me to get up, I guess to see if I’m ok

Answer #9

Yes, they do. They can read your body language. Wolves can’t. But dogs have been staying with humans since a long time and have “learned” to interpret human gesture, tone and mimics. (Not really learned. It’s in their instincts) Dog puppies for example will look where you point when you point at something. Wolf puppies will look at your hand.

And the dogs can smell it if you are sick or have a fever.
