Dogs Help

My mums says that I cannot have a dog, and I respect that. I have been interested in dogs for five years now, I knwo tonnes about them and I have read loads of books, and I am practically obsessed with the dog whisperer.

I was wondering, I know that I cannot get a dog now, but in the future I would really like one. I was thinking, I would really love to get a career working with dogs, but I don’t think I would do any good because I have never owned a dog, and I’m not exactly gifted or great either.

Do you think it would be a waste of my time?

nooo not at all I did an internship at a dog training place and it was so fun!!! as long as youre not scared of being jumped on every once in a while its a great job

I think you would be great with dogs, I didn’t get a dog until I was ten and I didn’t get to keep it very long… As soon as I graduated I became a groomer.. The best thing you can do is study, if you do that you will go far. Working with animals has changed my life. You sound like you have compassion for animals, you will do just fine:)

NOT AT ALL…your extreme interest…plus your self taught knowledge are great things to bring into the fold if a career in training, Vetting, whatever you thinking about doing…does come to pass…

Would your mom possibly let you foster a dog (take care of it in your home temporarily)? You can google “foster dog (your city/county/state)” :) That would also be a good way for you to have some more experience with dogs! And the places I’ve read about, pay for all the dogs expenses :)
