Can a dog have bleeding during pregnancy?

Dog pregnancy bleeding - any information on this subject - I want to know if your dog can be pregnant and having bleeding during the pregnancy?

Answer #1

I did take her to the vet but he said she was in heat. She was put with a male Brussels to be bred in Sept.

I really think I can feel puppies? This is why I am asking.

Answer #2

Answer #3

yes!

Answer #4

Hi,

It isn’t normal. Dogs will bleed when in heat, but if bleeding occurs when pregnancy, she should be taken to a vet ASAP.

Answer #5

Our Newfoundland was out for breeding and is still spotting a bit. From what I have read they can spot a bit after “catching”–we are hoping she took–my husband did take her running after she got back but I thought he should not have done that.

Answer #6

Turned out she was not pregnant. She was in a false heat though.

My German shapard “Shelby” ran away for about a week. We finally found her in dog jail, when she came home she became another dog she was more calm. I noticed she was spotting of blood. I was wondering if she got pregnant. Can she bleed and still be pg?
