Dog emergency

I brought my friends’ dog over, like she does several times a week, and while she was here, I gave her some peanut butter with a plastic knife. She swallowed not even an inch. She didn’t choke or anything so she clearly swallowed it out with an issue. It was the blade…should it pass out on its own?? Please help, I love animals so much, and I’m scared I might potentially kill my best friend’s dog!

Answer #1

I’m only thirteen! Don’t yell at me for something that happened on accident. I love my friend’s dog and I didn’t put it in her damn mouth. She bit it off because she’s very hyper- she’s in a cage all day.

Answer #2

GO TO THE VET

Jeez.

Something like that could EASILY perforate (tear) or hurt her stomach or intestines. She’ll get all scratched up inside. Doesn’t matter how small it is.

vet is the only thing I can say but he’ll be ok my friends dog ate 4 razorblades and a cell phone charger he was fine :) good luck

I’m going to put a picture up with the plastic knife that was bitten off+a brand new one so you guys can see.

If this matters also, she is a pug…

Answer #5

For gawd’s sake…why do you people ask these questions here, instead of going to a vet, IMMEDIATELY if not sooner???

If the dog was a Lab or a St. Bernard, that piece of plastic might pass without notice…with a dog as small as a Pug, then it’s off to the vet with her!!!

Consider it a lesson learned, and don’t put breakable items in ANY pet’s mouth!

Answer #6

A half inch is pretty small - can you be sure of the measurement ?

You really are best advised to ask a vet - they encounter dogs with all manner of things in their stomachs !

Answer #7

My friend would hate me…I think she’ll be okay. It wasn’t that big. I’m just worried the 1/2 an inch of knife blade will poke around her little stomach. Honestly, do you guys think she’ll be okay?

Answer #8

I don’t know, my old dog used to eat balloon. if they’re anything like humans theres a risk that the stomach or bowel could be perforated. get in contact with a 24/7 vet, they will advise you on to come in or not.

Answer #9

No one is yelling at you because the dog swallowed the tip of the knife…

They are yelling at you because the DOG NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET!!! What if this happened to a baby…you would go to the ER…RIGHT AWAY… Why should a dog deserve any less…

WHY TAKE THE TIME TO LOG ONTO FUNADVICE AND TYPE THE QUESTION… GO TO THE VET!!!

On another note, why is the dog in a cage ALL DAY???

Answer #10
