Why does my dog like to be against my body?

every time I lay down he jumps on the bed and gets settled snugged in a ball right where my stomach area is, and if he can he’ll bury himself under the covers and lay against my body

Answer #1

Your body lets off heat and so he’s trying to catch that bit of heat and keep warm

Answer #2

Answer #3

Answer #4

Like humans dogs enjoy attention and affection. Dogs are basically domesticated wolves. All puppies are playful and affectionate. Through selecting the most docile animals to breed dogs stay infantile; they never mature into the aggressive and dangerous adulthood of wild wolves. Since dogs remain puppy-like into adulthood their need for play and affection remains throughout their lives. Dogs also see the human family they live with as their pack. Your dog is doing what most young animals would and seeking body contact and affection.

Answer #5

My cat does the same thing too. Fist for comfort, protection, the warmth, to feel loved to be next to the person they love!

Answer #6

It is in a dog’s brain that you are the pack leader so he does it to warm you up along with keeping himself warm.
