Does this sound familiar today?

I was reading: During World War II the Japanese developed a way to demoralize the American forces. Psychological warfare experts developed a message they felt would work. They gave the script to their famous broadcaster “Tokyo Rose” and every day she would broadcast this same message packaged in different ways. The Japanese hoped it would have a negative impact on American GI’s morale. The message had three main points:

  1. Your President is lying to you.
  2. This war is illegal.
  3. You cannot win the war.

The article asked: Does this sound familiar today?

Answer #1

I thought it was an excellent ‘food for thought’ question considering the same 3 points are being are being put forward today - makes me wonder why the push to undermine our troops today…it is obvious and makes no sense to me as an American.

Answer #2

Implying ?…you’d have to ask the writer of the article his/her intended implications, if any.

Answer #3

Sounds a bit like the anti-Bush stuff, probably replacing “illegal” with “immoral”. It’s funny how history repeats itself in different ways. Never fails.

Answer #4

But you (amblessed) had some reason to post it. so what was your motivation?

I actually enjoy your baited questions but such I’m trying to get you to come out and say what you are trying to communicate.

Answer #5

Golly, sounds just like all the liberal politicans and the media.

Must be that the president’s low approval ratings are due to traiterous liberals in the media demoralizing us rather than the bankrupcy of his ideas or the incompetance of his actions. Is that what you are implying?

Answer #6

I was watching the same show w/ my dad a while ago, and he had the same question!!
