Does this guy like me or is he just messing around?

Okay, so there’s this guy. Let me start off by saying that for a few months now, he’s been all over this other girl. And I have NEVER understood it because the girl is like super conservative Christian and he’s…not Christian at all. And he’s just a lot different from her and it really didn’t make sense to me.

But anyways, everyday, when he sees me in the hallway, he always puts his hand out for a high five, but it’s not a high five, because he always holds on until we’ve passed each other. I don’t know. Totally weird.

And, he shortened my last name and that’s what he calls me. He was like the first person to do that last year, and that’s really what makes it special, you know?

Anyways, I’ve always had feelings for him, and last year, around Valentine’s Day, we both liked each other. On V-Day he was going to ask me to be his Valentine but he wasn’t at school, and then I found out he liked my best friend too, and I freaked and told him I didn’t like him anymore.

So last night, our Gifted and Talented Program had this lock-in at the school. At first, he was all up on the other girl, you know the one he’s been on for months now.

But then, when we went to the dark locker courts and nobody could see, we sat next to each other and he didn’t sit next to that girl. And at some point, he crossed his arms and started tickling my elbow with his fingers. And so I was just like thinking, “Well then I’ll cross my arms the opposite way he is.” This way, our fingers were on the same side, and I don’t know exactly how it happened but we just started playing with each other’s fingers and then it twisted into him holding my hand. But it was really awkward though because of our position, but it was still really nice.

Anyways, the whole night basically if we weren’t anywhere near each other he would keep looking for me and smiling when he found me. And every time we left the designated room in a group, he kept sitting by me and I don’t know there was a lot of stuff that went down you know?

So when it was time to leave this morning, he gave me this HUGE, LONG hug, and then the other girl was like “Bye” and he just said bye to her and left. Didn’t hug her or anything.

I feel kind of bad, but I mean, I’ve liked him for a while, and if he likes me I don’t want to screw it up a second time.

Tonight, there’s a party at this girl’s mansion, and he’s more than likely going, and the other girl isn’t going because she’s grounded. Somebody tell me what I should do, and if you think that he likes me.
