okk, 1st of all I am not a smoker, but am just curious to this...I know it has been proven that second hand smoke harms/kills humans. I am just curious to know if second hand smoke causes cancer/illnesses in animals? Has any data or facts ever been done on this?
There have been studies done, and they have found that second hand smoke does affect housepets, just as humans, with only a few differences. For example, cats displayed higher incidence of mouth cancer, while dogs had higher incidences of lung and nasal cancer.
Yes it does. Ugg! I was so pssed off yesterday while driving down the road because I saw a woman in a car with her dog... ALL THE WINDOWS ROOLED UP and she was SMOKING IN THE DOGS FACE!! I wanted to beat her as.
Yes - it has the same effect on them as it has on us. Evidence? Here's some articles about it: http://www.smokefreesociety.org/newsclip/Pets-1.html
