It really all depends on which kind of piercing you choose to get done. Cartilage, I know from first hand experience, that it doesn’t hurt too bad while piercing it. However, because you have to leave it in for several months to allow the skin around and inside of it to heal, it will probably get sore from sleeping on it and/or brushing up against it. Eventually, this soreness will just go away, and you won’t even tell its there. Just a normal ear-piercing doesnt hurt like, at all. I mean if you get it done professionally, they peirce it so fast that it just feels like a little pinch then your done. Thats it. As with any piercing, hygiene is OH SO IMPORTANT. Everyday after you get your piercing for the next few months, clean it with an ear-piercing anti-septic, which is available at peircing places, Sally beauty supply, and pretty much any drug store. Also, if you dont want it to get infected, you must refrian from handling it/touching it. the oils/germs on your hands will get on your ear and contaminate it. If you have to touch it, like for cleaning etc, wash your hands first.

Hope this helps. =]

I think it depends on your pain barrier really. If your really sweamish and hate any kind of pain- your not going to like it, but its possible!

If your one of those people who block pain out of their minds- your be ok.

But if you actually enjoy pain- your probably have the time of your life.

I personally find that cartlidge more stings than hurts. it’s a brief pain (that can be expected, you are puncturing your skin with a needle after all ;)) but it isn’t too bad at all! I have 4 cartlidge piercings and none of them have ever really “hurt” to get done. as long as you take proper care of it with cleaning, etc it should be fine :)

Answer #4

Nah the cartalige doesnt hurt that much cept when your hands get all sweaty and its tough 2push thru. Make sure the needles clean and your fine :] had 2du it 3tyms maself because of infection.Gud luck.

Answer #5

ok, well cartilage didnt hurt me, because I have a HIGH tolerance for pain, but… tongue I heard hurts, and industrial may hurt just as bad too, but out of all of dem, I would say,,, tongue hurts the most. :l

Answer #6

okay yea um I got my cartalige done with like a regular earring and it didnt hurt one bit. until I shoved a 16G into it that kinda hurt a bit afterwards but it only takes like a couple weeks to heal. so getting and industrial wont hurt anymore than a reg. piercing. and I think it hurts a billion more getting it done half way between lobe and cartalige. the pain isnt that big of a deal its over in like 2 sec.

Answer #7

industrial hurt but the healing process was the worst of all my piercings I’d have to say, sleeping was horrible. I’d turn over and wake up cause of a shooting pain trhrough my head haha it doesn’t last to long at least it only did a few weeks for me

Answer #8

no they don’t hurt at all

I have my nipples and my septum done… NOW THAT HURTS.

Answer #9

I think cartilage hurts wayyy more than any piercing I ever had before.

Dear kozueworldz,

They both hurt pretty similar for me, but If you expect a very intense pain, it hurts even less. I also have a very high tolerance for pain, so it depends on your tolerance. :)
