Does my guy friend like me more?

He is a great guy friend. He has always been there for me and always will be, but there a lot of people who have been going up to me lately and saying, “when will you two finally get together?”

Here are some of the things that he’s done:

  1. He ALWAYS puts his arm around me and hugs me and holds me tight
  2. Always checks up everyday to see if I’m all right
  3. Never cares if I embarrass myself
  4. Defends me *5. Whenever I tell him I like a certain guy, he always says, “No you’re too good for him” even if it’s his best friend.
  5. Flirts a lot
  6. Whenever I look at him, he’s looking right back
  7. He asked out another girl and everyone was astonished that he had asked her out, saying that they thought he would ask me out for sure. Next week, he already dumped the girl and told me that he had no feelings for her whatsoever. Just felt alone.
  8. Compliments me constantly and always tries to convince me to go after my dreams
  9. He’s always telling me, “I’m here for you” over and over again

I just need a second opinion on this. THANKS!

Those are things that friends often do. So we can’t say whether he likes you or not based on that stuff. I suggest asking him. That’s really the only way to know.

Sounds like a classic case of the friendship syndrome! I know what hes doing seems like he likes you more than just a friend, but the truth is..if he did, he would have asked YOU out at some point. If you beg to differ, then i suggest you ask him about it in a round about way. Just jokingly say, “am i too good for you?” Friends should be able to talk about everything! What have you got to lose?
