Do you think for yourself?

Do you? I personally think that its nearly impossible to think for yourself if you’re raised in a religious, political or any biased household. So do you really believe that you think for yourself? Or maybe you’re programmed to think that way?

Answer #1

Sure you do - it boils down to like everything in your life - a Choice you make - accept or reject…Take care !!

Answer #2

I certainly do although its not as easy for people who are raised differently especially in religiouse households mainly because of the lack of education, on more important things and the lack of social enviroment with diversity the enviroment you grew up in and the education you got plays a big part in determining who you are and how you feel about yourself and everything else theres lots of people who think for themselves but a lot of peoples are not so lucky

Answer #3

I agree…some people raised in extreme environments like that are not able to think for themselves. they regurgitate everything they’ve “learned”. now, before all of you go all haywire on me, let me tell you that I was raised in a deeply religious household, but the difference is that I was encouraged to use all of the resources I had to formulate opinions on the world. that’s what’s going wrong. it’s not the religion (unless you’re involved in a brainwashing group). it’s most often times the parent’s fault for not encouraging “thinking outside the bow”.

well, there are my two cents anyways.

Answer #4

Lol, I was raised in a religious household (most people are…) and I dont follow my parents religion or their beliefs… It isnt impossible, I think it’s hard for a lot of people, but not impossible… And everyone is programmed to think in a certain way to a certain extent… It’s the way society functions… green means go, red means stop, and everyone knows that… if we didnt have these rules, it would be chaos…

Answer #5

I was raised in a religious house which’s religion I don’t even believe in. I think for myself but before I do I’d think of others… As you’re young it’s only natural to think for yourself. You think for yourself when you wake up every morning, when you go to school/work, you always think for yourself. I think the question is do you think for others?
