Do you have a dream that you know you can't achieve?

My ultimate dream is to be a performer, especially singing and acting. I write songs a lot but I do this secretly and nobody knows this dream of mine. The thing is I’m pretty sure I won’t ever be able to be a successful singer, because I know that so many aspiring singers are a lot better than me and still they end up waitressing part time, while my parents want me to have a secure job. So what do I do, go after my dreams and be disappointed, or just go along with the secure job and be unhappy? Actually either way I think I’ll be unhappy. It’s just so frustrating to have a dream that you want to achieve so badly but simply can’t.

I know my dream would be to want a successful relationship with my Alabama sweetie whoes my Long distance boyfriend. I also hope to become a Special ED teacher or work in counseling or, work in group homes for the mentally challenged. If you keep on saying that you can’t achieve certain dreams, then you won’t be successful at it. I’d go for what you want to be. American idle is the best place to start I agree! If you don’t make it to be a singer, then at least you tried being one. Maybe if you don’t feel you have a good enough voice you say, you could take voice lessons. That would improve your voice. Then I never heard you sing so I wouldn’t know. Don’t be negative on yourself, just take your time. You have time to think this over. Just go to college and who knows, you might change your major once you get older and your thought paterns start changing. Go for it! What’s there to lose! You can’t achieve something if you don’t try right? Just see what happens. Take care!! And I hope your dream comes true.

Hey, I’d say go for it. If you don’t make it, you’ll just be in the same place you are right now. At least you tried. If you don’t do it, you’ll always wonder if you would have made it. Go ahead and give it a shot. =D

As long as you say something CAN’T be achieved, then it WON’T happen because you won’t work for it!! you can go to college and find a local band and play gigs around town until you graduate then I have a backup like your parents want and had fun doing what you love to do while doing so,, How bout American Idol…that certainly knocks out a lot of steps you would need to climb without it! Esp if you end up in the to 10 !! The stars are only as far away as you make them!! Believe in yourself and your ability!!
