Do you believe in a god, if so why?
I personally don’t believe that there is any “god”, I think if there is a god then he likes to watch us suffer. Because we are taught that one man and one women are to get together and live happily ever after, BUT, There are more men than women of dating age in almost every culture, just look at the census data, more men than women are born all most every year. So some men will have to remain bachelors, or virgins, to live a lonely existence without a mate. Its basic math. But men die earlier and in more numbers than women, so there are more women than men in the overall population, which means a lot of women will live out there last days as a widow having known heart ache, to then experience loneliness for themselves.
If god is all powerful and good, then why would he make it so hard for people to be happy? Why would he not make an equal number of men and women so that everybody can find a soul mate? If god does exist, based on my feelings, and the law of numbers and relationships, then I can only conclude that he is either not any more powerful than a normal human being, or that he likes watching people suffer alone. Either way I feel “god” does not deserve worship based on the misery he forces random people to experience.
For me it is better to assume no god, then the math makes sense, because nature, the real world is not a nice place despite what the hippies will tell you.
Just wondering some other peoples opinions on this.
Wowo… you bring many thoughts to the table…
Firstly, you say that God likes to watch us suffer…
The author of that thought has to be Satan, for it is just not true.
It has no basis in truth.
Satan, however, would love for each of us to believe that, because his main purpose is to keep us from believing in God.
If you will lay aside your thoughts on this matter, and truly seek, you will find the truth, and it is very worth the effort.
Also, it seems that you base your theories on the fact that appartently you have not found a mate .
Again, if you will seek God, he will help you in all your efforts.
He longs to give us the desires of our hearts,
But, without faith, it is impossible to believe him, for anything.
The Word of God builds faith, along with sincere prayer, and obedience to that Word.
God waits with open arms, but, we have to bow the knee, first.
We have to come as a little child, trusting, and believing, in him, to see him move.
God be with you, as you seek him.
Yikes as the author of all that was written in my ramblings of question, I believe I might have just been accused of being satan. Though not in the least offended it is certainly a first for me.
You are right of course in that I have not found a mate, and I am impressed that you took the time to read and consider where I am coming from before leaving an answer. Which is more than I can say for some people on here. I am 25 years old, all my friends are married, or have been, except me. I have never had much luck at the dating game. Though I have been on numerous dates, few ever want a second one, as if I am the bottom of the barrel to be considered.
I am also a very logic oriented individual, that believes all things have a cause and effect. One day after listening to many of my male and female friends tales of dating I formed a hypothesis that women had better odds in the dating pool. Which I then took a look at various census poles, and sure enough there were more men than women between the age of 20 and 29 for almost all states, and countries that I looked at. In my puny little state alone there are 4,500 more men than women in that age group. Which means that even if all the women find a partner, get married and live happily ever after, there will be 4,500 males that have no possibility in a monogamist society of even getting sex much less a romantic tale of two lovers supporting each other.
If you read all that you get a gold star. I have a very open mind to beliefs that are different from my own, but I just can’t figure why god would create a situation that means some men, almost 5% of the male population, will not know female companionship. These men destined to live alone, and thanks to societies pressures, no one wants to be those men. Perhaps in the end, Satan chooses to prey more on young men than young women, and perhaps it is his doing that causes this to be. I don’t know - I just know that is not a happy picture for everyone, no matter how much/often they pray.
Thanks for taking the time to answer. May god look favorably on you and be with you in Good spirits always. For he has clearly abandoned me, if he ever held an interest.
im agree with u..im happy to noe im not the only one that thinks that way..if there s a god why do we all suffer? plus I really doubt that someone cood just create a universe out of nothing…I myself believe in the big bang theory wich is the theory that the universe started out as a small dot that expanded to wut it is now…
I believe in God. He’s indescribable. He gives me purpose & meaning in life, and He’s provided a way for us to have eternal life with Him in heaven if we believe & have faith in Him and His son Jesus Christ. He loves us more than we can know no matter what we do. To me that’s just incredible.
Concerning all that stuff about soul mates & etc. I look at it this way: God blesses some of us with the gift of marriage, & God blesses some of us with the gift of singleness. Each one can be amazing in its own way. Some people just aren’t meant to be married, and some people just aren’t meant to be single… In the end, God knows what’s best for us, and He has a purpose for whatever is happening in our lives.
I believe “God” was made to save people… from going insane trying to figure out The Big Bang Theory and Evolution before people had strong enough knowledge to figure it out. Back then people were power hungry and you can have all the power you want if you are smart enough to make a cult that can brainwash half of the world during this time. Look at the Roman Catholics and Christians.
Yea, until I see something better, I am kinda with the big bang theory as well. My only real problem with it is that the universe is so big with so many secrets yet to be unlocked that I am pretty sure sooner or later we may have a different conclusion as to how the universe came to be. After all once upon a time we thought the sun revolved around earth, we now know better, but…
I strongly believe in God. I just look into my little daughters eyes, and I know. We are not suffering because of God. Man has free will, so we commit most of the inhumanity to each other. If a little sparrow came once a year to sharpen it’s beak on a 10,000 ft granite mountain, the time it would take that sparrow to whittle that mountain down to a grain of sand small enough to fit through the eye of a needle; is one second in eternity. Now you do the math!
I do NOT beleive in him, or the devil… I don’t know its just it all dont make sence to me…
No. There aren’t any gods.
if you dont beleive in g-d what do you beleive?
I believe in God because I’ve been saved by His grace and He lives within - this is what I know to be true: God being pure cannot even look upon sin - man, even in his very best state is a sinner - on judgement day, either: your sins are covered by the blood-shed sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (salvation and only salvation - being a nice person isn’t good enough - even at our very best, we are but filthy rags), and remembered no more or they are not (your sins are not covered) - where God’s great love comes into play is, He provided a WAY (Jesus) for us not to perish and live in Heaven with Him (He certainly didn’t have to do this but did because He loved us so) - if you read carefully John 3:16, this is exactly what it says - each person will either accept or reject, you must decide for yourself and yes, it’s so important, it has eternal consequences - He Loves you and wants you to accept God’s free gift to man - Jesus - ‘if you are a truth seeker, then you will find Jesus’ - Seek Jesus while He can still be found for it won’t be long now and the four winds will be let go and our world will be in unimaginable turmoil. Soon the door will be shut and destiny will be decided for all - your choice, God made a way for you, I hope you’ll accept !
