Why am i dizzy when i stand up?

it has happened for awhile now, it happens to my dad too. but whenever i stand up, i get light headed, and my eyes feel weird, and i cant walk straight. this all happens within 5 seconds, but still. its weird >.<

Alot of things can cause that, standing up too fast the throwing your equalibrium off, anemia, low blood sugar, fatigue, etc. If it continuous though i would see a doctor.

read about orthostatic hypotension. This could be it.

poly is right haha its just a sudden drop in BP and when it returns to normal you feel fine. its nothing to worry about unless it lasts a very long time

Lol, if you get up too fast you get dizzy :P Happens to everyone, it’s nothing to worry about.

Assuming that you’re not also dizzy while lying down … it could be a number of things, most of which need an MD’s care. Two very likely things are low BP or a momentary loss of equilibrium.
Dizziness to any degree or for any length of time is indicative of something. See a Doc and set your mind at ease.
