How did disease and war affect Europe in the 14th century? What were the consequences of these events on population, cities and towns, the practice of serfdom and decline of of feudalism/rise of an urban based economic system?

Answer #1

it decreased the population of Europe by 1/3 or 1/4 of the entire population. I don’t know which, but it was a really great number. Then because of the plague people became more superstitious and blamed them on witches. The church was really powerful that time.

Answer #2

I have seen numbers that range anywhere from 70 million to 475 million people dying from the “Black death”. One thing is certain and that is that between 25 and 50 percent of the European population died from that terrible disease.
