What is the difference between the phrases "She is AT school" and "She is IN school"?

or the second one is grammatically incorrect?

Answer #1

Well She is at school means she is at the school, but where at? at the office, at the front door building, at the school washroom

She is in school means she is inside the school like in a room but no clue what room or where inside

and i hope i am right cause my grammar sucks when it comes to correcting it :P

Answer #2

‘At’ the school could mean she’s either inside the building of the school or outside of the school. ‘In’ the school would mean that she is inside the of the school.

Answer #3

inside of the*

Answer #4

Am i right?

Answer #5

They both have different meanings. If you were to say ‘She is AT school’, that would mean that the girl is currently at school either in class or at lunch or something but she is at school. ‘She is IN school’ generally refers to a girl being enrolled at the school but doesn’t necessarily mean she’s at the school grounds right now. You could say ‘yes, Sarah is still in school’ meaning Sarah is still attending school. But if you said ‘Sarah is at school’ it would mean Sarah is currently actually at school.

I believe this is what I am looking for. Thank you.
