Could I still be a diabetic even if I don't drink excessive amounts but have all the other symptoms?

my dad was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 16/17 which is the same age as me. but me and my family moved out so there for we had to change doctors and we all had to take a urine sample this morning. however i got a phonecall this afternoon saying that there was glucose in my urine and that i could possibly be diabetic and that they need to take a blood test next week. lately i have lost a good amount of weight and have been extremely tired and low in energy and feel dizzy sometimes. however my problem is, i havent been drinking loads and loads and going to the toilet alot although saying that i have been drinking abit more than usual, but even though i dont drink excessive amounts but contain all the other symptoms could i still be diabetic?

go to the doctors and get a full blood test you likely inherited the juvenile diabetes from your pops. get help asap :O

Go to the Dr and have an A1C test done - this will give you an average of your blood sugar for the last 3 months….

It’s always possible. However I have had a lot of symptoms of a heart attack or stroke, even diabetes, and never actually had any of them. But if there is a history of it in your family, it is somewhat likely you have it, especially if you’re experiencing symptoms. There are multiple reasons to explain the symptoms other than diabetes, but it’s always good to be sure.
