Does depression relapse?

Its completely normal. Depression is a disease and something that your likely to battle on and off for you entire life. There are times where it will seem to go away and times where it will come back - its normal. Try and not let it get to you, talk to a counselor or close friend when you need too, and if you were on medication previously this might be a sign that the medication should be continued instead of stopped.

It is not like an addiction. You don’t relapse. You simply have another depressive episode. A large percent of people never have more than one depressive period in their life. Many people do have more than one episode. It just depends. It isn’t something you just have to deal with. You go back and you do what worked before and try things differently in regards to the things that didn’t work. There’s still help and treatment.

Thanks for your advice. I’ll try to retrace my steps and try to remember what I did a few years ago when I first got out of my first depressive episode.
