Depression about a job

Hello. I am a 16 year old boy and I feel sad all the time. I may have a mild Depression problem. But that isn’t what the problem is about. I am taking classes to become an Automotive Technician. I just got my very first job at the local Lube shop. The job seems easy and my first day is tomorrow. When he told me I got the job I made a fake face of excitement, but then when I got to my truck I was really sad. When I got home my parents got mad at me for being “underwhelmed” about this. I know I should be happy and excited, but all I feel is severe anxiety and sadness, as well as an unwillingness to perform my job and a feeling of “I can’t do this job”. I want to tell my parents about it but I am afraid they will get even madder because we can’t afford medication or a therapist. I’m not sure about how I can ask or what to do myself to pick me back up. Thanks.

Talking to your parents is definetly hard. Here’s what I would do: I would talk to my mom(only because I am closer with her) about the job and the depression. You’re 16 and a lot of things can be stressful. Heckk, I’m 13 and I am reeeallly stressed out. But the point I’m trying to make is that there is always help. YOu can get on a medication to help depression. Just remeber talking to ANYONE can always make you feel better. Your friends, family, peers, teachers, even your pet lol. Just someone to get your feelings out to. Hope I helped(:
