Declawing a puppy

Why do people have their puppies declawed???

Answer #1

I have never heard of declawing a dog, I work at a vet hospital and we remove Dew Claws at a clients request but never all the nails. We don’t even really like doing it with cats, you are removing the first knuckle. we keep the cats for 2 days before they can go home.

Answer #3

I can see delcawing a cats front paws, but they need there back paws for defense outside. But dogs, I think that is cruel. But Lex is right they do it because of scratching things up. There is no need to declaw a dog, they just need dicipline.

Answer #4

Some people think that dogs and cats are similar. Which of course they are pretty much opposites, cats like to scratch on things and pretty much the only way to get them to not mess up furniture is to declaw them, it hardly phases them.

Dogs on the other hand absolutely need their claws. if people keep their dogs nails trimmed and smoothed you can’t even notice them. People who even think about declawing their dogs either DO NOT need to own a dog, or do some research on them.

Answer #6

Answer #7
