How should i deal with starting 9th grade, when im from a different country and will not know anyone?

I had the same problem when I was moved to another country 4 months into 9th grade…I arrived on the 1st of january after everyone was settled into their own groups…barely knowing how to speak I tried my best by smiling & being inviting…little did that do…if the kids didnt try to use me, they were phony… So I tried to find those that were or had some sort of American background & tried to make friends with them…but once again saw that they too were phony…when it came to coming over to go swimming in the pool then they always made time…but when I needed some help understanding some homework or to prepare for a test, they were always too busy!

I guess it all depends on what country you are in & how they have been raised! In the country I was in, am in again…most 80% if not more are users…blackmailers…and hate new comers…they are bios & jealous…constantly trying to screw someone over to gain or benefit something for themselves! Hey, that is just my incident…doesnt mean it will or will not happen to you!
My best advice, is just be yourself…what ever happens…never change whom you are to fit in to a group no matter what country you are in…always stay true to yourself…and if they dont like it or are phony friends…and you wind up like I was…do the next best thing…during recess, take out your ipod, mp3 player or what ever gadget you use to listen to your fav music…and If you feel lonely write…take a sheet of paper & write ever is on your mind…it’s when I got the most poetry when I felt like just being alone & wrote down what I was feeling. I loved being creative…who knows maybe you will too…or the opposite maybe you will be so popular that you wont even have time to take out your mp3 player to hear music!

It is okay to go to a new school,you never know how the students are,they may love you and would be more friendly than your old school. i know how you feel,you don’t need to do anything special,everybody would like you if you will be friendly,first impression. REMEMBER TO SMILE,when you smile,the world smiles back at you.nobody likes to hang out with a negative person. Starting ninth grade,concentrate on your studies,score good grades,this should be the main goal of yours.I am sure everybody will like that. you will get to know more people,just spend some time with your class mates,and choose a group that you think is decent and more like you.

Well find a person in ur class, and introduce urself.
