Deaf People writeup?

So I am writing a paper for school (Im going to be a nurse) about culture and my teacher said I could do people who are deaf, so I was just wondering if anyone has any input about like why its important for a nurse to understand this culture and recommendations for the nurses practice?

well, its important for everyone to know about deaf culture really. I would say it is important for a nurse because you would need to know how to communicate with a deaf person who is sick and to be patient if you do not know sign language since a sick person who is deaf will need help which may be more challenging also some deaf people are very against cochlear implants which is an important thing to know and research about!
