What do you do to get rid of/prevent swollen glands?

  go to the doctor he'll probably prescribe you anti-biotics thats what they did with me when the glands in my throat kept swelling it worked pretty well but if they're really swollen they may want to do a blood test to make sure it isn't anything serious
