Do you think that dating an international student would work out?

Answer #1

A guy from my school dated an exchange student for a couple months until she went back to Norway. Even though it was to be expected, he was absolutely heart broken.

Answer #2

It could. It all depends on how committed the two people are.

Answer #4

I think it could work if the two were commited enough, like Kahili said. I personally wouldn’t get involved unless I had constant plane tickets~

Answer #5

There is still e-mail, skype, chat and stuff. So you can keep in touch when they go home. But long-distance relationships are difficult. Maybe it could become a reason for you to go to university abroad (to their country) later.

Answer #6

Possible….but odds are the separated distance over a long period, make it hard to maintain a close relationship…

Answer #7

Aw :(

Answer #8

Thanks for the help everyone!

Answer #9

There is always obstacles in every relationship. It would work out, if you really wanted it too. If both partners were devoted to the relationship, I think it’s fine.

You can always date while one or the other is out of the country, but continue to contact each other. I think you would call that an open relationship, it’s less pressure for both partners.

Skype, facebook, mobiles, and letters are always good for this kind of relationship. But there is no certainty than anyone can maintain a relationship without one or the other crumbling in the process. Focus on the moment, and not on the future.
