CV and jobs.

I’m trying to write a CV but I don’t know how, so I googled how to make a cv and stuff came up but its all very general. Is there anything that can help a fair bit because I am stuck as what to write. What defines skills or abilities? Also what’s keeping someone from lying on a cv if its not likely the employee wont find out? Also do small jobs (supermarket/vege shop/small retail like $2 dollar shop etc) check up on recent employees? Can you just not list an employer if you screwed it up with that job? I ask this because I went to a supermarket to apply (they didnt need a cv) and they rang me back and asked why I left previous job (loss of license) and they were too concerned about that and I didnt get the job.

I’ve sent it over e-mail, if you get a mail from a gmail account titled ‘Curriculum Vitae and Motivatonal Letter’, it’s not spam :)

No problem by the way, hope it helps a bunch. If you have more questions or want some explanation/help, just ask!

Captainmunch, a real true example of a proper cv would be most excellent!!! If you could send me one that would truely make my day I tell ya!

Answer #3

Cheers.

A cv is a document that basically says who you are and what you have done and why you are better for this job than the next person.

A curriculum vitae describes you as a person and a possible employee, try to lie as little as possible. When applying for any job, you send in your CV (which is usually 100% the same for any job you apply for) and a motivational letter explaining why you want this job and how you fit for the position.

If you want an example, I could translate mine (which are in Dutch) because I’m kind of bored at work anyway :)

Done, again thanks

I have my CV translated and edited for you, but I can’t send it to you as a .doc over funmail. Send me a funmail with your e-mail and I’ll translate my motivational letter too in the meanwhile. Greetings!

I’m not sure what a CV is, but I do know that when my boyfriend went to apply for a job he left off his previous employer because he was fired for something that wasnt his fault(he worked at a tire/oil change place and a car flew into the parking lot and rear ended him, yet they said it was his fault). He was only there for a little bit, so he just left it off his application/resume. I doubt it would screw anything up. However, if that is the only job experience you have then I would still put it down.
