How to cure a steam burn?

I burnt my hand a while ago and it really hurts. It isn’t broken skinned or anything, and was caused by steam from a pot. How do I cure it? It is partially red and feels like fire!

UPDATE ON PREVIOUS POST ABOUT PREGNANCY:

I told my mom, and she agreed to keep it between us until later. We are going to planned parenthood tomorrow to see what we can do about it. I really don’t want an abortion, and neither does my mom, but it might be for the best.

1st question: flood the burn area with cold water. If done soon enough it will deaden the pain and limit the damage (probably too late for this by now, but remember it for next time.)

2nd part: I am glad that you are taking your Mom with you. Besides keeping the baby, and ab0rtion there is also the third option of adoption. That is a strong, proactive choice, (and probably the most difficult one to make.)

Whatever you decide, take care of yourself, give your Mom a big hug and thanks for her being there, and Good Luck!!

Answer #2

Yay I’m happy for you. But please tell your boyfriend too.

Thanks, I did that, and even though I waited a while, it still cooled the burn! :) And yeah, we thought of adoption. She is actually sitting with me right now. I don’t think we would be able to do that though. I mean, I don’t want to hand someone my child and not get to have him/her see me as her mom. I think we might keep him/her. But yeah, I am happy that mom is here for me. Thanks for the answer!

I am calling him over right now.
