The only way to really overcome a fear of heights, especially when it was caused by a bad experince is to put yourself out there and overcome it. You can start small, ladders, indoor rock climbing, etc and just keep pushing yourself to get past the fear and move on until you can rock climb again.

I have had a fear of height ever since I was small. I’m now gradually overcoming it. Start small and get comfortable with smaller heights, then move up to larger ones. And go rock climbing again, if you don’t face your fear of it soon it is just going to get worse and worse.

It depends. In my opinion, there is a difference between a fear and a phobia. Fears can be overcome. Phobia’s, it depends on the person and what the phobia is. It also depends on what you consider to be a height. For some people, to cure something like that they just have to go head on with it. If even standing on a chair makes you nervous, try doing that for a little bit. If you become comfortable with that, try something higher. If it doesn’t work and you really want to overcome this, try therapy. They do have some therapies for different fears/phobias.
