Is there a cure for AIDS or are we still searching for it?

AIDS is caused by a retrovirus. It is extremely difficult to get rid of retroviruses because their RNA becomes a part of our own DNA. They are able to replicate using the DNA inside of our cells. Its very tough to get rid of this virus. I believe that the best modern medicine has to offer are medications that block the binding site of the virus in the first place, or inhibit the enzymes responsible for the virus’ replication and integration. There are currently no cures for viruses. Not the common cold, not the flu, not even chicken pox. All we can do to guard ourselves against viruses is vaccinations and to some degree serums. There are many crackpot conspiracy theorists out there. Sounds like too many people are starting to bring out their inner Dale Gribble.

There is no known cure for AIDS that we as society know of and as for the government part, wouldn’t suprise me if it was true.

I think we are evolving out of our vulnerability to aids. people are starting to survive it.
