Help them learn whats right and wrong in the world early, so they can make clear and informed choices when they reach early adulthood. Kids are much smarter than most people give them credit for, and the more clear their view of the global happenings that shape their future, the better off we will all be as the next generation starts making the decisions that shape our world.
And to answer your question, I'd say it largely depends on who is making the decisions and controlling the inevitable influence of the world.
