Can I cross-pollinate an apple tree with a lemon tree?

Is this possible? I am planting seeds from apples, lemons, ect which are growing. The reason I am doing this is because I love watching life grow and thrive. Fruit would just be a bonus. If this is successful and there is not already a fruit like that out there, I would name the fruits “Lemapple trees”. You can tell that I am relatively new to this lolz. My babies are one of my passions. :D

Sorry, no. They are very different species. If you want to have something different, you CAN graft a branch or two from one sapling onto the other. I’m not sure how long it would take for both to be in production, because some trees take longer to produce fruit. A local nursery could let you know.

Thank you. :) To graft a tree do I make a cut into the tree I am grafting the branch to and tie it on with something?

YouTube has a number of videos that will show you different methods. Here’s one. http://funadvice.com/r/16195qophs9 Please understand that grafting will not give you a hybrid, it gives you one tree that produces different varieties of fruit. Good Luck!!

I think you could…My friends grandpa crossed a orange tree and a lemon tree

Awesome! They are both citrus trees however.
