Cracks in the concrete

It was raining a few moments ago, and I noticed that some spots of the concrete didn’t turn dark like the rest did. The parts that remained the same color had cracks in the center of the unchanged areas. Why does that happen?

Answer #1

Thanks techyrob. That’s kinda along the lines of what I was thinking. :)

Answer #2

it has to do with the mixture of cement mixed with rock and sand. if the cement used to hold the concrete together was old and breaking down before it was used, you’ll see cracks and the rain will not “mix” with the surface like normal concrete.

Hope this helps!
