Can the court force u to take meds? i have a friend in that situation

Answer #1

Yes, they can, but there are some “ifs” that need to be met to warrant the order:

You can be ordered to take medications if:

  1. You have been arrested and require the medication to properly function during your court hearing,

  2. A doctor has stated that you are a danger to yourself or others

  3. You are found unfit to make decisions for yourself and someone has been chosen by the courts to make these decisions for you

4 You are under the age of 18 and in the care of a parent or guardian
