counseling without parents knowing...

im 16 years old and I kinda have some issues I need to deal with. im not at all close to my parents and I really need to talk to someone about everything going on. but my parents are against the whole therapy thing so I was wondering if anybody had some advice on how to see a counselor without my parents knowing… if thats even possible.

Answer #1

you can see a therapist without parental consent, and it’s actually illegal if the therapist tells your parents. of course, you might have to pay for it, but a school councillor wont cahrge you (hopefully)

Answer #2

school counselors…all counselors are confidential which means they pretty much cannot tell ANYONE you talk to them and what you talk about.. find some places and just double check sometimes they do this anyways even they they arent supposed to but a school counselor cant thats what I did when I was younger.

Answer #3

soemtimes talking to someone you dont know helps. because that way they can give you advice, without trying to look good to your friends or family. sometimes an outsiders look is the best you can get at times. if you want you can email me, my email is gavinsmom62508@yahoo.com

Answer #4

well the only problem is my school counselors are part of the reason I have issues. I cant trust them.

Answer #5
