Could you be pregnant and still ovulate?

Okay this is kinda hard to explain. I heard that if you have sex like a few days after your period and you get pregnant, you never end up ovulating because theres no need for the egg to drop. so does that mean that if you did have sex (say about 5 days after your period), and you still ovulate a few days later (I can always tell when im ovulating because I get a lota discharge) does that meen im NOT pregnant if I still ovulate?

Hhhmm hard to say. These days it becoming more common for women to still get their period and go thru their normal cycle even if they are pregnant. Just to make sure, DO NOT HAVE SEX WITHOUT USING PROTECTION!

Sperm can live inside of you for up to 3 days. (unless you’re on B.C. - it makes it too hostile of an environment for sperm to thrive in) So it is still possible for you to become pregnant. Plus you might be ovulating before you have the discharge… that might be just an effect from it. To know for sure when you ovulate you have to go through a lot of complicated charting methods. (Taking basal body temp, checking cervical mucous etc.)

Pregnancy doesn’t always happen RIGHT when you have sex. The safest way to not become pregnant is to get on some type of birth control and take it correctly and consistently. Check a local women’s or family planning center in your area. A lot of times they will provide birth control options for little or no cost depending on your income, provided that you do annual check ups.
