could this be a betrayal?

I have this ex school mate and friend too.and dis guy wanted to like date me and I kind of turned him down I said I wasnt ready so he had my friends number and d still communicate behind my back its being like 5months and I havent heard frm any of them,she visits him and vice-versa…oww I told her I was totaly not into him but I was just playing hard to get.what do you think?did I lose it?could dis be a betrayal?am so confused and too proud to eccept this situation

well its common for a girl to want to take her time with things, so you shouldn’t feel bad for what you did. however, your friends behavior suggests that they are not real friends at all, and you shouldn’t worry about trying to get their friendship back. as for the guy…how do I put this politely? Guys are mostly just looking for “instant gratification” . if you don’t instantly show that you are interested, they won’t hesitate to move on, which shows that they never really cared about you in the first place. there will be guys who really like you, and you will know them when you meet them because they will wait for you as long as it takes, and they won’t stop talking to you if you tell them you aren’t ready. if there’s anything else you need, just ask.
