How much do things cost in Costa Rica?

I’m going there next year and wanted to know how much general items cost. I know they use colones as currency, but I was wondering how much things cost and how much money I should take for extra spending money.

If you buy local produce it won’t cost too much, don’t buy anything imported as the tax is huge on imported items. If you can survive on mangos you’ll be fine as mango trees are everywhere! Haha. You can get rice for about 50 cents, and bottles/cans of drink for about 70 cents. They have canned food like soup and tuna for about 40 cents, and it’s locally sourced. Public transport is also very cheap, you can get a bus day pass for about 50 cents. Check out this website for some more prices and local foods: http://funadvice.com/r/1576tf560tp

- How long are you going for? I forgot :L I think a couple of hundred dollars will be enough.

- Are we still going to the movies tonight? We could go tomorrow if you wanted, and I could pick you up from school and we could drive there. Did you want to go Albany or Whangaparaoa?

Answer #3

Okay did you want to go at like 4 or later, like 8pm? Check when it’s on :)
