How do you convince your parents to let you do wrestling?

yes i know im a girl but i can wrestle like any other guy on the team but my parentals dont seem to understand my love of the sport. they think i will only flirt with boys and that they dont wants boys to touch me while wrestling. plus my boyfriend and some of my Ex’s are on the team that they know of :/ HELp?! D;

Answer #1

I don’t know why they would unless it is for your safety, if this is coed wrestling you have to be careful cause at this age a lot of boys don’t realize their strength and can get really rough.

Answer #2

I wud just sit them down and let them know ur really wanting to do it, just cuz ur a girl doesn’t mean u can’t wrestle

Answer #3

You also have to look at this from a dad’s perspective, as a dad he knows what is on the boys mind and he also knows that boy can get really aggressive and before they get beat by a girl they may take savage actions.

Answer #4

That’s true

Answer #5

yes it coed ed but the majority is boys, only on eother girl and the coach says im waaay better than her and i should join to shut her but up coz she thinks she all bad. and the guys wont be a problem i wrestled all of them before off the mat,

Answer #6

If its coed then I don’t see any reason y u can’t join the team, especially if ur good

Answer #7

well i know all the uys on the team very well, we live in a small cumminity and they are all aware of me. but uhmm i dont have a dad ( may he rest in peace ) and agagin the guys no problem im just as touch as they are

Answer #8

Awwww I’m sorry to hear bout ur dad (may he rest in peace)

Answer #9

I really do not think schools should have coed wrestling and I know in profession wrestling it is never coed due to there sheer size of these guys.

My son is only 13 and I would never want to see him wrestle against a girl, right now he is 5 foot 7 and 130 lbs and when I wrestle him he has hurt me.

Answer #11

Thr r advantages to girls wrestleing though, like learning more effective ways of defending themselves against the boys

Answer #12

I am just saying as a dad I would not want my son wrestling a girl, he is very competitive, and he is bigger than my wife when I meet her at 13. I would not want to go to the school and see he hurt a girl wrestling.

Answer #13

Yes, but in life I think the best defense for a women is their mind and to avoid needing physical defense all together. When I was in the military I meet some really tough women and while they where very strong and fast they could not over power the men. Women are very smart, use that to your advantage.

Answer #14

Lol ok I will keep that in mind

Answer #15

LOL, well I just know I would not want to go to the school to find my son has hurt a girl in a sport like this.

Answer #16

Why don’t you invite your parents to a wrestling match, so that they can see that you are serious about the sport. In addition, maybe they could have a talk with your Coach, he could tell them about your talent and passion for the sport and what kind of safety measures are in place. Maybe if they see you are excited about wrestling they’ll have less anxiety about it.

Answer #17

you shouldnt be afriad to tell your parents that you are going to do something that you like/love to do its something that they have to accept and love you for. i dont see how you should have a problem wit it, but they will make ask you if ur sure if thats what you really want? know the awnser for that quesion! goodluck!

Answer #18
