yu hafta either have a wireless connection, like fomr a computer router used for laptops… or a bunch of wires connecting to the computer

Well you need a router to split your high speed connection. If its a wireless router you can connect your ps3 to it wirelessly - but a new functions don’t work if its connected wirelessly (like PSP Ad-Hoc Party). To connected it hardwire run an Ethernet cable form your router to your ps3.

Or I guess if you just want to connect your ps3 to the internet and no other devices, you run an Ethernet cable from your high speed modem to your ps3.

PS3 cannot connect off of dial-up.
