connect a bridge in another room to enable a home network

Hi I want to connect a bridge in another room other than my computer so I can use my laptop.. can you tell me how to do it…I am not very computer learned tech wise so make a picture (lol) thanks I have a small bridge box which id like to use but I also have a D-Link wireless..

I wouldn’t recommend “bridging” the computers through some sort of parallel cable.
Simply from the phone, next is your modem, next is your router or switching hub (not recommended, router is less problematic), then the two computers are either cabled to the router/switch, Even without an internet connection, the two computers can swap files and attempt to find each other using the shared connection. (this will require either running a wizard on your connection settings for a LAN (local area network) and knowledge of the computer information for both machines which you can check in your control panel. If you have Windows XP then the LAN is usually connected automatically without running a wizard, but the information for the other computer must be set so the computers can talk to each other. Sort of like two businessmen that can’t talk until they hand off their business cards to each other.

There are different ways to set up different networking tools so I need to know the model of the items you have in your network to really help you specifically with your needs. Feel free to clarify or add on to the “answer this question” portion of this thread.
