Why are there specific colors for kids?

My parents had twins, a boy and a girl. When they were little, my brother Brennan always wore blue and my sister Jamie always wore pink. That is the only reason I can think of. For my parents, it was much eaiser to tell them apart. Now that they are older, they wear what ever they want (mostly.)

FilletofSpam, it’s not just red that has so many names. For instance, instead of saying “blue,” there’s azure, cerulean, cornflower, robin’s egg, etc.

Also, dark red and maroon aren’t the same thing. Maroon almost has a bit of brown in it.

I think pink is more girly and about the bule i think because man like to wear bule mabye because of that :)

Red isn’t special. It’s the same as any other color. Colors and their lighter hues are called tints whereas colors and their darker hues are called shades. The difference between the two is that tints require the introduction of white while shades are mixtures of colors with black. Maroon isn’t just a dark shade of red though, it’s actually the mixture of brown and red.
