Answer #1

I do.

Answer #2

I did, when I went to school. Not TOO far, yet far enough that I felt on my own. I went to school in Washington, and my folks were in western Montana…about a 5 hour car ride. It was a perfect distance….if I got homesick, it was no big deal to go home for a weekend…but it was too far for parents to pop in for unannounced visits :)

Answer #3

I went to school on a different continent, so I was more than a few hours away. I was horribly home sick at first (even though I didnt particularly love home), but after a while, and to this day, I am very grateful that my parents forced me to go. I dont see why you should regret leaving. You always have the option of transferring back to a closer school, you only have to deal with being away for 8 months, if you dont like it you move back home.

Answer #4

my uni is about six hours from my home town. I hated it at first, I felt really homesick throughout my first year. It got better though, and while I still prefer the city where Im from, I am glad that I moved away for study. It makes you a lot more independant.
