If you follow the storyline, this symbol is known as the keywork. More or less it’s the universe the story is set in goes and finds quote about said keywork

“Before time began, a supreme being, known as “God” in this religion, came forth and gave life to three new species: Mage, Prise, and Man.” The structure life was created on was devised of two parts, Heaven’s Fence and The Keywork.
