Why are cicadas always getting into my house?

Lately there have been so many cicadas getting into the house from the backdoor in the kitchen. This has happened so many times now. First time it was a live one, second one was a dead one, third one was flying around the kitchen where my mom was screaming, and now the next one is in my kitchen right now. It’s like everytime we open the back door like to let the dogs out, a cicada somehow gets in. Why is this? Is there something that could be attracting them here because we had never seen any cicadas around our area before all of this

Lights attract bugs to your house, if you have flood lights or a porch light that stays on that will attract bugs. Also the light from your kitchen will attract them, its best to have blindes, curtains, shades, etc over windows and doors so it blocks the light from going outside and attracting bugs. It could also be the time of year, certain bugs seem to come out more in the summer.

That explains a lot. Thanks!
